椅子張り授業のための8本のスツール

馬毛や藁などを使った、カペラゴーデンでの伝統的な椅子張りの授業のためのスツールを8脚。一度にたくさんつくるための段取りや、冶具のつくり方、気持ちやモチベーションを維持することを学ぶ。同じ加工を64回繰り返す。どの工程も1度はミスをしてしまう。失敗の拭い方も勉強。

図面を描かずに、マルムステン風の外側に広がるカーブした脚の原寸プロトタイプをつくり、デザインの検討をした。ヨーロピアン・オークのスツールを3脚、エーランド島のアッシュを3脚、同じくエーランド島のエルム（ニレ）を2脚。それぞれの材料にあわせて面の形状を変えた。オークには、はっきりした切り面、アッシュには丸い面、エルムには細い切り面を施した。隅木はビスが打ちやすいかたちに。オイル（煮亜麻仁油）仕上げ。

8 stools for upholestry class

I made 8 stools for the very traditional upholestry class at Capellagarden using horse hair and hay for chairs seat. I learned how to plan and follow the procedure, jig making and how to keep the motivation. Same movement of hand 64 times. Always made a few mistake. I could also learned how to wipe mistakes.

I considered the design without drawing, I started to make the real scale prototype of the curved leg. 3 of the stools were made by european oak, 3 by Oland's ash, and 2 by elm. Different types of edge were gave to each material. Larger straight edge for oak, round edge for ash and tiny sharp edge for elm. Boiled linseed oil finish.
